    Granada Robotics Team

Congratulations to Granada's first ever Robotics Team!  These students learned how to build and program their own robot to perform a set of tasks and then competed with Teams from other schools to see which robots were the most efficient. Our team was entered in the "Rookie" (first time entries) Division and came in 7th place!  The students worked hard, learned a lot, and with the support of their parents and our school coaches, Mrs. Jennings & Mr. Benigno, did a fabulous job!

Students Awarded $10,000 in "Save the Drop" Contest

Students in the upper grade SDC at Granada Elementary Community Charter School entered a District-wide contest focusing on how to save and conserve water. The students created a seven foot banner depicting different ways to accomplish this goal. The banner won 1st place in the 4th grade division and earned the school $10,000 towards a water conservation project of their choice for their school! Students and their principal were invited to the Awards Ceremony at the LAUSD Board Room on March 8 where they were presented with a giant $10,000 check and enjoyed a light lunch with "Mr. Drop" from the DWP. Congratulations to the students and their teacher, Ms. DeGrace!

    Principal's Message

Our school motto is, “Creating a Community of Lifelong Learners” and that’s what you will continue to see happening at this school every single day.  Students, teachers, parents, administrators, and support staff all work together to further the academic, social, and positive character development of each child while recognizing the special gifts we each have. It’s this special feeling of community that bonds us together and makes Granada Elementary the unique and special place it is!
